In an effort to keep our members informed of continuing education opportunities, we offer this webpage as a portal to continuing education opportunities across the country.  While this is not an exhaustive list, we tried to include as many opportunities as possible. Local CE opportunities can also be found in the “Events” button of the website.

Every year, ASCLS-Ohio hosts their annual educational conference that offers over 40 hours of continuing education credit.  This is the perfect venue if you are looking to obtain CE credits and not have to travel to far from where you live.  This annual education conference is held  in Columbus, Ohio  in the Spring.  For more information, please visit the “coming events” or “annual meeting” pages of the website.

ASCLS  Annual Conference and Exposition

Annually, ASCLS partners with AACC to present an educational conference and laboratory exposition.  This conference is held throughout the country and is usually held at the end of July.  Please refer to their website for more information.

ASCP Annual Meeting

The American Society for Clinical Pathologists offers their 4 day annual meeting.  This meeting is packed full of CE opportunities for everyone.  This meeting usually takes place in the Fall.  ASCP offers online CE as well. Please see their website for more information.

ASCLS Case Studies for Lab Professionals

ASCLS is also pleased to offer you the opportunity to receive CE credit for completion of case studies.  You can earn continuing education credit conveniently at your own pace by downloading the cases and successfully completing a quiz. MediaLab Inc

MediaLab offers individual and institutional subscriptions to over 40 online courses. All  courses are designed exclusively for laboratory professionals. Westgard Quality Corporation Courses

Get a grip on QC basics with access to Westgard Quality Corporation Courses. Westgard offers 4 online courses that range from 5-15 P.A.C.E. contact hours.  Courses are as follows:

Introduction to QC – 8 P.A.C.E. contact hours.($40 ASCLS members/$80.00 nonmembers)

  • Basic QC Practices – 15 P.A.C.E contact hours ($75 ASCLS members/ $95 nonmenbers)
  • Basic method Evaluation – 15 P.A.C.E contact hours($95 ASCLS members/ $190 nonmembers)
  • Multirule minicourse – 5 P.A.C.E contact hours($45 ASCLS members/$90 nonmembers)

ASCLS Focus articles for P.A.C.E. credit

ASCLS offer Focus articles in the CLS journal for P.A.C.E credit.  Earn 1.5-5.0 contact hours for each Focus article completed.  Cost is $18 ASCLSmembers/$28 nonmembers) to submit the article quiz for credit.  There are three ways to get Focus articles as follows:

  • Become a Professional I member of ASCLS. The CLS journal is included with membership.
  • Purchase an individual subscription to the CLS journal for $50.00/year.  Call 301-657-2768 for more information.
  • Download an order form to receive Focus articles as pdf documents (computer files).  Cost is $22 ASCLS members/$32 nonmembers.  To download the form please click on the following link:

Advance Learning Scope

ADVANCE and the ASCLS jointly offer a means for you to read Learning Scope continuing education articles (good for 2 years from publication date in ADVANCE), answer the test questions and pay for the test via your credit card—all online. Cost is $15 ASCLS members/$20 nonmembers. Here is the link:
